Soooo, We went and done it. Got a storage facility. It's gonna be costly but will free up lots of much needed space. Now the problem is finding vehicles, help, and time to move it all. It shouldn't take long with a few people helping. I'm off this weekend. If you are willing to volunteer your time and/or vehicle give Steve and Pat a call, We'd gladly accept :D Weather permitting of course lol

Our Ever Changing Page...
Well, you might check back here once in a while, see the same post at the top of the page and think, "hmmm nothing has changed". Well there is a good chance you are wrong :D We are always tinkering with page layout and design and are occasionally changing things here and there. Usually we have a poll at the bottom asking Halloween related multiple choice questions. We have also added a small Tetris type Halloween related game (I zone out on WAY to much lately). Our site is a member of the WebRing Of Terror and we posted a banner that allows you to visit other sites that are members of the Halloween related ring. We have added links to many Halloween related sites. If our blog has spurned any interest in Home Haunting, those sites are a GREAT tool to delve into. Beware though, that rabbit hole can take hours out of your day, as it has ours! One last note, on the side strip of our blog is a section called "followers", there we have a list of people who blog themselves, which have subscribed to Hook's Haunted Hollow (HHH for short) to see our blog updates. If you click on their individual icons you can see their blogs and the wonderful things they are doing on their sites as well. My only disclaimer is once again, make sure you have the time to get lost, once again. Thanks for stopping by HHH!

Contest Entered
So, just before Halloween, I (Steve) came across a Home Haunter Association site and I registered Hook's Haunted Hollow. There were no Nebraska haunt entries so we were the first! A week or two later A contest was announced. Three great prizes will be offered to the best home haunt. Keep your fingers crossed people! Pat and I decided to enter our YouTube video into the contest and on November 20th a set of three winners will be announced! I can't say what our chances are. There are quit a few great haunts we are up against. Some were featured on Fearnet TV while others were giant haunted house endeavors spanning into the back yards and neighbor's yards. Some have static displays while others have moving pneumatic monsters and zombies. Other haunts had GREAT production value on their haunt videos. If you go to the link I'm posting to the right of this blog entry, you can see what we are up against. Can we overcome these great haunts? Check back here after November 20th and find out! http://www.homehauntersassociation.com/

A Thank You is in order!
We would like to thank a few people whom without their assistance the Haunt wouldn't be what it is today. Thank you Ronnie and Gloria for your great ceramics, the many skulls, the troll, the black angel, jars, and Johnny's table, cardboard, brik a brak, materials, and hard work (your efforts helped make our Haunt original and unique). Thank you Don (and wife and kids :D) whom in the midst of illness still had the gumption to come help on Halloween Day. Patty, you don't even know how handy your tables, chairs, ladders, and spotlights helped keep us going. Trudy, for donating the wonderful wedding dress which was absolutely perfect for this year's vampire bride. Lucy, for the costume chest, materials, and the great fireplace! Also, for your years of support and great mac n' cheese! Judy and Dick, for your wonderful support and for providing us with the foam to make the awesome tombstones! Ricky, for conduit pipes and hinges and other odds and ends he gave us. Greg and Curt for the use of the security cameras, thanks guys! And finally Celeste, We know this haunt is very intrusive on your life and we greatly appreciate your struggle to understand and support while trying to run a normal household around it. Pat and I both know the world kinda stops for us when this time of the year comes around. Thank you for reminding us once in a while its not Halloween year round and family comes first. Your patience has not gone unnoticed nor has it been under-appreciated. And Thank all of you that came by and made our Haunt successful this year, as well as, those who supported us online through the forums and this blog. We love you all

2009 Haunt
Well everything went off as planned cept for a few things. Turn out was great and it seems everyone that participated really enjoyed this years set-up. It was a week of long arduous days toiling from noon to four AM every day till October 31st. We completed everything that we attempted but had a few set backs. Our 30 gallon Sanborn air compressor got dropped and now the control mechanism is smashed. Our plan was to use it to make cobwebs on everything this year but that idea went up with a loud thump. Thank you all that came and we hope to see you next year. We really loved having you all. We are already toying with ideas for improving it next year. Turn out wasn't counted but I know we handed out over 88 glow stick bracelets. I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed bringing it to you. We took over 200 pictures and videos which we hope to upload soon. Keep a look out in the next couple of days!
